ALL-SPICE Data Ethics Journal Club
The ALL-SPICE Alliance offers a student-led journal club focusing on Data Ethics
The online journal club is led by graduate students Beverly Rice (UH Manoa/Chaminade), Chelsea Miller (UH Manoa/Hawaii EPSCoR),and Mata’u Faiai (Yale)
The journal club is co-promoted across ALL-SPICE, Hawaii EPSCoR and the Islands of Opportunity NSF LSAMP Alliance and NIH INBRE programs
Each semester has a three session theme (e.g., health equity in Fall 2023, misinformation/disinformation in Spring 2024
Participants earn a Certificate of Completion from the Chaminade United Nations CIFAL Center and the ALL-SPICE Alliance if they complete all three sessions in a semester, 6 Certificates have been earned to date
The Data Ethics Journal Club has met 8 times with 80 attendees
